Pop Up Retail
The project involves the conversion of a storefront space in a large scale pinhole, with the light hole in the window.
A storefront is usually a display space. This project turns it into a covering space because, the window must be completely opaque except for at least one point of its surface which allows light to enter and hence the photographic image. "See the street inside" aims at the dissemination of the basic functioning of photography, a camera of curiosity, where people can walk in.
As a physical result of this experiment there will be an exhibition of photographs that naturally fix the exterior urban space and the flow of pedestrians. They may choose to remain motionless, to appear in the photographs.
At the storefronts there will be instruction manuals appealing to the interaction of people as well as generic instructions so that each participant may create his own pinhole.
This action is part of the Pop Up Retail project, aiming to reactivate the empty commercial spaces with temporary interventions by means of less conventional activities.
