The Platform for Arts and Creativity is a project based on an infrastructure that will transform the Old Open Market Area of Guimarães into a multifunctional space dedicated to artistic, cultural and social-economic activity. This amenity will house a series of resources and spaces dedicated to three main programme areas:
The Platform for Arts and Creativity is a project based on an infrastructure that will transform the Old Open Market Area of Guimarães into a multifunctional space dedicated to artistic, cultural and social-economic activity. This amenity will house a series of resources and spaces dedicated to three main programme areas:
- The Art Centre will house a permanent collection – The José de Guimarães Collection-, an area for temporary exhibitions, a multi faceted area for complimentary activities, presentations and small scale shows, besides a series of public help services and a small parking area.
- The Embryonic Workshops of Creative Support will be workspaces dedicated to young artists who, in diverse areas, wish to develop temporary projects, thereby instigating a dynamic creativity that will permeate the whole platform. There will also be a restaurant, café and bookshop.
- The Creative Labs will be offices to support companies and are designed to welcome and set up activities related to the creative industries, promoting innovation and entrepreneurial projects. They will include areas for public use, work rooms and help centres.
